United Way Community Builder Awards for “going above and beyond in working to build an even stronger, more compassionate Mid Coast Maine community,” were presented to: Martha Mayo of Bath, an ecumenical group of church volunteers in the Damariscotta-Newcastle area who have launched projects to meet urgent needs, and Bath Savings Institution and Bath Savings Trust.
Also at the Annual Meeting, several people were elected or re-elected to United Way’s Board of Directors: Marcia Benner of Damariscotta Bank & Trust, Claire Berkowitz of the Maine Children’s Alliance, Keith Bisson of CEI, Coleen Farrell of Mid Coast-Parkview Health, the Reverend Josh Fitterling of the First Congregational Church in Wiscasset, Steve Levesque of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA), and Shelley Taylor of the University of Maine – Brunswick Center.
Bill Brillant of Wayfair was elected Chair of United Way’s Board of Directors, Mary Ellen Barnes of Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission was elected as First Vice Chair, Pam Gerbi of Brunswick as Second Vice Chair, and Sean Martin, Vice President of Bath Savings Trust Company, as Treasurer.
