Program Investments
For 2011-2012, United Way of Mid Coast Maine is investing in the following programs
that are producing positive results for children and families, and helping us make
progress toward our Community Goals.
Bath Area Family YMCA - Child Care
Provides Preschool Enrichment program, as part of their quality child care and before and after school programs.
Central Lincoln County YMCA - Child Care Programs
Provides quality full day care and preschool for infants (6 weeks) through 5 years of age.
Coastal Kids Preschool
Offers an inclusive preschool program in Lincoln County providing a developmentally appropriate education for all children without regard to ability and family income.
Family Focus - Children's Services
Provides quality child care and after-school care in Brunswick and Sagadahoc County for
children ages 6 weeks through fifth grade whose parents are working or attending school.
Family Focus - Parent Program
Promotes the healthy development of young children and their familes by offering a free, voluntary, family-centered home visitation program in Sagadahoc County and Brunswick area for parents of children with special needs or those in need of additional support.
Harbor Children's Center
Offers families in the Boothbay Region with quality, affordable infant child care, preschool, and after school care in safe, caring and stimulating environments.
Healthy Kids
Prevents child abuse and neglect in Lincoln County and encourages, supports, and promotes
healthy family environments through home visits, workshops, and activities for families.
Midcoast Maine Community Action - Families CAN!
Provides information on child abuse, neglect, and prevention issues, and offers family education and support groups to single parents, new mothers, teen mothers, and guardians.
Teen & Young Parent Program - Mainely Families Home Visiting
Promotes child and family well-being through free home visiting parenting education sessions along with frequent group experiences for participating families in Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties.
Tri-County Literacy - "Read With Me" Family Literacy Program
Introduces families in Head Starts and Bath elementary schools to the pleasure and value of reading together, encourages active and positive relationships with their children's schools, and connects families with life-long learning resources such as libraries and adult education programs.
