Investments in Programs

For 2006-2007, United Way of Mid Coast Maine is investing in the following programs that are producing positive results for children and families, and helping us make progress toward our Community Goals.
  • Bath Area Family Y.M.C.A. - Child Care
Provides quality child care, a Preschool Enrichment program, YPreschool, and before and after school programs.
  • Central Lincoln County Y.M.C.A. - Child Care
Provides quality child care in Damariscotta.
  • Coastal Economic Development - Families CAN!
Provides parents and family programs that are strength-based and family-centered, focusing on the prevention of abuse and neglect.
  • Coastal Economic Development - Head Start
Provides a comprehensive pre-school program for income eligible 3 and 4 year olds, including a full day program at Bath Center.
  • Family Focus - Children's Services
Provides quality child care and after-school care in Brunswick and Sagadahoc County for children ages 6 weeks through fifth grade whose parents are working or attending school.
  • Family Focus - Parent Program
Offers home-based family support program in greater Bath-Brunswick region to parents of children ages birth through five to promote positive family functioning and the healthy development of young children and their families.
  • Harbor Children's Center
Provides families in the Boothbay Region with quality, affordable child care and early childhood education in a safe, caring and nurturing environment.
  • Healthy Kids! A Family Resource Network
Prevents child abuse and neglect in Lincoln County and encourages, supports, and promotes healthy family environments through home visits, workshops, and activities for families.
  • Tri-County LVA - "Read With Me" Family Literacy Program
Invites families to share books together and supports parents to take an active role in their children's learning and in their children's school or Head Start site.
