Workplace
Giving Many individuals give through their workplace in
one of two ways:
1. Through Payroll Deduction
Ask at your
workplace for a United Way of Mid Coast Maine Employee pledge
card. Simply select the amount you would like deducted each
week and return to your Human Resources/Payroll department.
Contact Jane Irish at or at 443-9752 for more information
about workplace campaigns.
2. Matching Gifts
Some companies
offer matching gifts for their retirees and employees who
make charitable contributions. Check with your company to
see if a matching gift program is offered.
Giving as an Individual
We offer a variety of options for you to give:
Gifts of Cash
The simplest and most popular way
to give. Tax benefits are available for gifts of cash if
you itemize on your tax return.
Credit Cards
Please
call us at (207)443-9752 to make a Credit Card donation
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover
Steady Supporter
You can become a Steady Supporter by giving
through United Way's Monthly Giving Plan. Your total gift
amount can be broken down into twelve payments that can
be charged monthly to a major credit card, or debited from
your bank account. Please call us at (207) 443-9752 to enroll
today!
Gifts of Securities
The best stocks to donate are
those that have increased greatly in value, particularly
ones producing a low yield. Donating appreciated stocks
can be a very beneficial way to give to United Way of Mid
Coast Maine. Whether you are giving to the Annual Campaign,
the Endowment or you are making a Planned Gift, you may
realize substantial tax savings by contributing stock instead
of cash. We recommend that you consult your personal financial
advisor to see how a gift of securities can benefit you,
and what the most current regulations are.
