United Way's Message to the Community
Today the community of Mid Coast Maine is facing times of great transition.
We currently have the kind of community many people around our country and world are seeking. We have strong networks of relationships, and caring, volunteering and service to others. We have successful, well-run local programs that help people reach their full potential as individuals and as members of this community - all thanks to the work of many people over many years.
We need to ensure that whatever the changing workplaces, demographics, governmental funding, or needs, we continue to be a strong and healthy community where people care for each other, teach and learn from each other, and reach out to people who are alone or need help. We are stewards of the life of the community we call home, just as we are stewards of the environment.
United Way of Mid Coast Maine has been a positive force for good in this community for 50 years, and we are determined to keep our community strong and have an even greater impact in the next 50 years and beyond. We bring people together to address our most important human needs, and work toward solutions to root causes. We have a clear local focus, and the broadest possbile human reach within that Mid Coast focus. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.

How to Support the Endowment
Gifts to the Endowment Fund are an excellent way for donors to make a gift that will keep generating income to change lives in Mid Coast Maine for years to come.
Gifts of cash or securities can be made to the Endowment Fund now or Planned Gifts can be arranged for future contributions.
