Improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities

Each Fall, United Way rallies support in the community through workplace and residential campaigns, and special events. Dollars raised during the campaign go toward local programs that help local people.

When you invest in United Way, you invest in your community

  • You help Mid Coast children have the BEST POSSIBLE START in life.
  • You provide food & shelter to our neighbors in need.
  • You provide companionship & respite care to elders.
  • You create opportunities for people with disabilities to work and live as independently as possible.
  • You connect people with services, and you foster relationships between agencies, professionals, and community members.
  • You strengthen Mid Coast Maine.

Here are 4 ways you can be involved:

  • Build Your Business: Community involvement helps you reach a broader audience. You can see increased sales and improved client relationships.
  • Build Your Reputation: Community focus strengthens you as an industry and community leader with stakeholders, employees, and customers.

Loaned Executive Program

Loaned Executives are individuals “loaned” to United Way from an organization or sponsored with funds from local companies. Loaned Executives function as extensions of the United Way fundraising staff in coordinating employee campaigns and soliciting employee pledges throughout Mid Coast Maine during the United Way Campaign.  Loaned Executives build leadership, fundraising, and teamwork skills while assiting local employers in planning, implementing, and managing successful United Way workplace campaigns. Serving as United Way spokespeople, Loaned Executives convey the mission, vision, and values of United Way to the community.

Companies that offer Loaned Executives and/or sponsor Loaned Executives include L.L.Bean, Hannaford, Norway Savings Bank, BIW, Local S6, Bath Savings Institution, and FHC, Inc.

If you are interested in loaning an employee to United Way for a campaign, please contact Tom Blatz at 207-443-9752
