Improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities

United Way stands up, and speaks up, for children!

United Way advocates for children and families at the state and federal level, working to preserve important investments in early childhood. By working together with statewide advocates, local providers and legislators, we are striving for a brighter future for children, families and our mid coast community as a whole.

“I am here today specifically to oppose the proposed cuts that affect the early care and education systems in Maine. The ten United Ways across the state have as one of our top priorities early childhood because it focuses on prevention, reducing costs over the long term, and because research shows that investments in early childhood are important for a healthy economy in Maine now and in the future, and for people’s health now and throughout their lifespan.”
