Volunteer Reader Network!

You can help pass on the love of reading to young children, and help them be ready to succeed in school and later in life!

How Does it Work?  Success By 6 will match you with a specific child care center or family child care home.  Our Volunteer Readers pick up special book bags at their local library and bring them to the child care site to share with the children. Most volunteers visit the site once a week. Children's librarians in our region work closely with the program and often help the Volunteer Readers select fun and age appropriate books. Volunteers also can bring their own favorites to share with the children!

How Do You Get Started? Just give us a call at 442-7440 or e-mail us at success@uwmcm.org to receive our application or to get more information.

Are You A Child Care Provider? If you want a volunteer to visit the children in your child care home or center, please contact us at the number or e-mail above to sign up or to get more information.

"We have a child who wouldn't sit through even a five page story. Now he will listen to a whole bag of books and talks about what happens in the stories."
